Mark Rieger

Board of Trustees - Chairperson

Over a 35-year career, Mark Rieger has served in a variety of leadership roles in lending, retail, marketing, operations and senior/executive management with Mercantile Bank, US Bank, First Horizon National, and since 2014, with First Federal Bank of Kansas City. In his current role of Senior Vice President/Chief Brand Officer, he leads the bank in the areas of community development, nonprofit banking, marketing, product strategy and customer experience. A Kansas City native, he is a Class of 1987 graduate of Archbishop O'Hara High School, has degrees in Political Science and Spanish from William Jewell College, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Kansas.

Support for the Church's mission of Catholic Schools is an ongoing and dearly held interest, having served for 10+ years on the advisory boards of St. Mary's High School in Independence and Archbishop O'Hara in Kansas City. Mark also worked as a project consultant for the Forward in Faith capital campaign with the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, which provided the funds, planning and foundation for St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School. He has been on the St. Michael Board of Trustees since the school’s inception in 2017 and serves on the Board of Directors for the FIRE Foundation.

Mark enjoys hunting with his dogs and shooting sporting clays, running, and hiking and biking with his wife Monica. The Riegers are longtime members of Our Lady of the Presentation Parish in Lee's Summit. Their daughter Stephanie and son Ryan—also O'Hara graduates—live and work in the KC area.
