Michael Ciaccio
Board of Trustees - Board Member
As an entrepreneur at heart with a counseling psychology degree, Michael founded the Center for Healing in 2014. This 'healing' title captured the needs of the Catholic Church on both sides of the state line, as the practice grew to where it is now with 6 practitioners. He helped launch the My House Workshops in 2016, a 3 day healing intensive for men and his team recently set up tailored therapy groups, meeting a gap in treatment in the Kansas City area. His practice currently treats about 140 clients a week, creating a healing space for therapeutic work. Alongside individual therapy for teens and adults, family therapy and couples therapy, Michael noticed that 25% of potential clients could not afford therapy. Thus he co-founded the Center for Healing Foundation in 2017, a 501c3 for clients in financial need.
Michael has a heart for 'helping the helpers.' He supervises and leads his team of therapists to enter into the trenches with their clients. He loves to create programs, develop the procedures to make the practice run and his passion to network is another intangible gift. He believes 'You can't give what you don't have,' thus Michael plugs into regular supervision and mentoring of his own to point out his blind spots and receive guidance.
Michael and his wife, Carla, run the Center for Healing together, as she is the Practice Manager with her background in administration. They have 7 kids, 2 sets of twins! Their 15 year old twins are at St Michael's and their three younger kids are at Our Lady of the Presentation.
Michael is from Omaha, NE and graduated from the University of Kansas (2006), studied in the seminary at St Mary of the Lake at Mundelein, IL (2007), commenced graduate studies at Divine Mercy University (2008) and finished his MS at Avila University (2011). Michael loves the Cubs, playing ping pong, inspiring his kids and recently entered back into school through the Peterson Academy. Vacations with his family are a highlight of the year for him.
