St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School is proud to name John Kuckelman as our Director of Technology. John brings an extensive background of knowledge to our leadership team. He has served in our armed forces, been an engineering executive, and has taught all areas of mathematics at the high school level. His passion for his Catholic faith is lived out on a daily basis and through his countless volunteer hours in youth ministry for his home diocese of Kansas City in Kansas. He will lead our community in all things technology as well as coach our Robotics team.
John attended St. Paul Catholic School in Olathe, Kansas. He joined the United States Air Force upon graduation from Olathe High School. After serving four years in the Air Force, he graduated from Kansas University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. For more than 30 years he worked in the Information Technology field with extensive experience in software engineering. From 1993 - 2013 he worked for Cerner, where he was promoted to Vice President in 2003. In May 2015, after completing 2 years of coursework at Ottawa University, John was licensed to teach mathematics. Since 2015, he has been teaching math at Immaculata Catholic School in Leavenworth, Kansas. John has 5 children, 3 grandchildren and has been married for over 30 years. He and his wife are active members of Holy Trinity Parish in Lenexa, Kansas.
